The famous De Padova showroom, located on corso Venezia in Milan, is a must for all design lovers.

Its celebrated founder, Maddalena De Padova is an iconic figure of Italian design who worked with the grand masters (Arne Jacobsen, Charles Eames, Achille Castiglioni, Vico Magistretti …).

Padova is a family adventure that began in 1956 when Maddalena and Fernando, opened a small shop in Milan to import Scandinavian furniture. Exploring Scandinavian and American design of the 50s, Maddalena’s life was a journey of rare intensity and success. The influence of Maddalena on the lifestyle of the European middle classes has been extraordinary, giving the brand De Padova an exceptional reputation. The company developed in manufacturing, first on license, the American “Herman Miller” collection of home furniture and high-end offices then began to produce its own collection with the successful collaboration of top internationally renowned designers. 50 years later, De Padova remains synonymous with fine quality furniture design which goes beyond fashion. In almost 50 years of activity, De Padova has remained true to its principles from the beginning, namely design as a means to convey emotion, inspiring classics in the field, of the love of craftsmanship and related research into innovation. In 2009, Maddalena De Padova definitely entrusted the management of her company to her children who have establish collaborations with new talented designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Jasper Morrison, Naoto Fukasawa, Nendo.
