BILLIANI @ Toorak College – Chapel

Aesthetic serenity in church!
We’ve seen them used in bars, pubs, hotels and restaurants, but once again the various Doll seating models confirm their extraordinary versatility.  This is when a chapel becomes a place of aesthetic serenity.
Toorak College Chapel is a very special place and, in refurbishing this 1975-built space, Nexus Design architects accentuated and respected the “school spirit”.

Oak flooring is combined with freshly painted white brick walls to create a totally new look:  the interior of the chapel, previously dark and gloomy, has been transformed into an ethereal venue bathed in light.
The simplicity and repetitiveness of the bleached beech Doll chairs supplied by Cafeculture + Insitu make the chapel atmosphere more friendly, far removed from traditional bench seating solutions, and allow the necessary versatility in space usage to cater for the various activities.
Nothing has been left to chance, the long blue aisle giving a nod to the old school colours, and the use of some Doll Lounge easy chairs making for relaxed and intimate conversation.

A complete range of chairs, armchairs, lounge chair, barstool and table, with alluringly sweet lines; solid beech or metal frames. Seats and backs upholstered, or stained or lacquered.
